January 22, 2025 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Course Planning and Assessment is a course about how to plan courses and assess learning outcomes, particularly for adults. It is concerned with designing learning systematically by considering learners, content, intended learning outcomes, learning tasks, pacing, appropriate expectations, instructional strategies, and assessment.
Course Planning and Assessment will be useful for people who want to plan workshops as well as for those who want to plan a formal educational course, whether it be a new course or a course that has an existing course outline. It will cover the theory behind planning and present a number of models for course design.
As part of this course, learners will develop a learning assessment plan that includes a variety of strategies and tools. Learners will plan an actual course, thereby immediately applying the theory to a useful and practical project.
