Aurora College does not currently have an International Student Office. Please contact international@auroracollege.ca with any questions and we will do our best to answer them in a timely manner. Students who are accepted to a program will receive information from their program and the Student Services division to plan for travel to the Northwest Territories.

Aurora College does not offer ESL (English as a Second Language) courses for International Students looking to study abroad.

  • Environment and Natural Resources Technology
  • Business Administration
  • Office Administration
  • General Studies

While all three campuses are accessible by road, the distances between the Northwest Territories and the major ports of entry are large. Most students travel to the Northwest Territories by plane, departing from Edmonton International or Vancouver International airports.

  • All three of Aurora College’s campuses are known for regular winter temperatures of -30°C to -40°C (and colder!!) during the winter months (November – March). It may already be hovering around 0°C when you arrive in September. While this may sound intimidating, all three campus communities offer a rich selection of outdoor winter activities to be enjoyed. It would be best to come prepared with the proper outdoor gear to get the most from your travels North. Being prepared includes having the following winter clothing:
    • Heavy parka
    • Winter boots
    • Mitts
    • Scarf
    • Toque (warm hat)
    • Snow Pants
  • Good quality winter clothing will provide a temperature rating.
  • You can purchase most of these items in the campus communities. However, buying them before you travel North can be more affordable.
  • For more information about winters in the Northwest Territories, visit this website.
