Course description:
The Introduction to Carpentry Course is designed to provide students with a broad range of skills for working on construction sites. This includes everything from basic site preparation, surveying (leveling), concrete forming, basic framing skills and roofing techniques. Students will also learn about insulating techniques, drywalling applications and painting. This is done in accordance with the local building codes, using specialized hand or power tools. Students will gain an understanding of blueprints, do layout work and calculate quantities of materials.
