Course description:
This course is an introduction to the languages, history, and culture of Indigenous peoples of Canada. This course will explore the origins of Indigenous peoples in Canada, their lifestyles, governance, societal structures, science, trade, spirituality, kinships, relations with others, and eventual contact with Europeans. Students will explore the changing Alliance – Reliance – Reconciliation relationship First Nations people have had with the Canadian government.
