Course description:

This field placement experience provides structured opportunities for students to study theory in practice as they observe preschool-age children in early learning settings. Students will observe and analyze children’s abilities, interests and ideas in order to reflect on the professional practice skills used in the areas of child development, early childhood pedagogy, and professionalism. They will establish responsive relationships with children through program participation. In addition, they will explore and practice the principles of observation and assessment as it pertains to early learning pedagogy and inclusive, play-based early learning curriculum approaches with individual children and groups of children.
