Course description:

Safety in the mine is essential. There are numerous potential hazards in a mine site and secondary and tertiary medical assistance can be hours away. This course will introduce the student to safety considerations in the mine, and will provide practical activities and certification in relevant topic areas. Certification will be obtained in Occupational First Aid, WHMIS, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
