Course description:
This course introduces the student to the concept of environmental health and unintentional injury prevention. Environmental pollution and the relationship to infection and disease will be discussed. Safe food handling, safe water supply, and proper waste disposal will also be examined. Unintentional injuries and the impact on the community will be discussed. Health promotion practices and strategies that may decrease the incidence of disease and injury due to environmental factors in the community will be explored.
