Course description:
This course develops students’ written and oral communication skills, emphasizing research and writing, scientific and technical analysis, formal reporting requirements and working with the public. Using workplace scenarios the student must demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively and are challenged to develop their critical thinking skills and use good judgment to make decisions, develop rational arguments, resolve conflicts and persuade others. The student will learn how to communicate effectively with the media and enhance their presentation skills by using audio-visual equipment and computer software. Project management concepts are also introduced. Career development, resume writing, job search strategies, and interviews for employment are also covered.
