Course description:
This course is designed to build on the learner’s knowledge of basic mathematics. The ALBE Math 130 curriculum incorporates seven interrelated mathematical processes: communication, connections, mental mathematics and estimation, problem solving, reasoning, technology, and visualization. Topics of study are number concepts; fractions, decimals and percentages; ratio and rate; integers and one-step linear relations; area, volume, surface area, Pythagorean theorem, and transformations; and measures of central tendency, circle graphs and probability. Upon completion of this course, students may choose to continue their studies in ALBE Math 140.
