Course description:
This course examines adult learning and teaching, exploring ways to implement theory into practice. The first half of the course examines adult learning theories and compares and contrasts these models with new and emerging approaches to learning and development. The second half of the course provides participants with the opportunity to identify and examine their own beliefs, values and preferences that define and distinguish them as educators. Learners will have the opportunity to examine their own learning beliefs with various theories and models and develop their own personal philosophical position on/in adult education. Critical reflection on learner’s professional practice will be emphasized.
