SUMMARY:BOOKKEEPING / READING FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
DESCRIPTION:This five-day face-to-face workshop covers the basics of setting up and operating a basic record keeping system for a business or organization in the NWT.  In hands-on exercises\, students will use an accounting simulation consisting of actual source documents from a fictitious business\, students will enter financial transactions for a small company using the five-journal system. Students will need a computer with internet access and a microphone/speakers for this class. A headset with a microphone is ideal\, but not required. As the instructor demonstrates the exercises\, students can complete the exercises on their own computer\, providing they have a copy of the Excel program installed on their own computer. Otherwise\, they are welcome to take the class and observe the instructor.
